MTMC is a Bauchi State Government‑owned enterprise established to plan, develop, manage, and regulate markets, motor parks, terminals, and related commercial infrastructure across the State. The Company serves as a strategic vehicle for promoting orderly trading, improving transport logistics, enhancing ease of doing business, and supporting economic growth.

Mission: To develop, manage, and regulate modern markets and transport terminals that promote trade and transport integration, investor confidence, public safety, and sustainable economic development in Bauchi State.

What is the enabling law for MTMC?

MTMC is a limited liability company registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) under the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA). Its mandate is derived from the Bauchi State Government’s policy decision to professionalise market and terminal management, with operations guided by Executive Council approvals and state regulations.

Which state policies guide MTMC?

The Company operates in alignment with Bauchi State policies on urban renewal, economic development, internally generated revenue (IGR) enhancement, and ease of doing business reforms. Oversight is provided by MDAs such as the Ministry of Cooperatives and SME Development, Ministry of Lands, and the Physical Planning Board.
